My Kabbalah teacher once told me that I should not put on my skin something that I’m not willing to eat. “it’s simple”, he said. “The skin absorb everything; same as food, so are all the creams and lotions that we are using”.
Of course, he was right. A little reading about what’s in our creams and make up products lead me to the conclusion that the best thing is to avoid them completely. But if we MUST wear make up (we must!!!) so at least use the natural products, with minimum chemicals, and no parabens for sure.
As per deodorant – well, if you are a true vegan, you hardly have a problem with sweat! Why? it’s pretty simple – when you sweat, you actually detoxify – so all the toxins that you consumed (food, pollution etc) are leaving your body with your sweat. When you become vegan, you reduce dramatically the amount of toxins in your body, so the smell of your sweat is not so smelly anymore (and so is the smell from your mouth when you wake up in the morning…before you brush your teeth!) .
I did replace most of my beauty and bath products with natural solutions. Coconut oil is one of my best friends, and so are many other essential oils that are healthy and wonderful to use.
Here is a list of 8 Deadly Chemicals In Your Beauty Products:
